Chromebooks Quick-Start Guide

 The following guide provides quick solutions to day-to-day tasks with your West Carroll provided 1:1 Chromebook.

 

How to Login:

 

  • Enter your School Provided Gmail Account and Password into the Login Prompt.
  • Note: Login is Only Allowed for WC314.org Gmail Accounts.

 

How to Login with CleverBadge (Primary School Only):

 

  • Click Next on the login screen.
  • Line up the badge so that the QR code is visible to the camera screen.
  • After the Checkmark appears, you will be logged in.

 

Accessing Chrome:

 

  • Click the Google Chrome Icon at the Bottom of the Screen.

 

Accessing Clever:

 

  • In Chrome, Click the Home button on the Upper Left to open the Home Page.
  • Click either the CleverBadge Login or the Login with Google Buttons.
  • Select your Account or Line up your Badge so the QR code can be Scanned.

 

Accessing Gmail:

 

  • Click the Gmail Icon at the Bottom of the Screen.

 

Accessing Google Docs:

 

  • Click the Google Docs Icon at the Bottom of the Screen.

 

 

Accessing Google Drive:

 

  • Click the Circle Icon on the Lower Left.
  • Select Google Drive.

 

Accessing Schoology (Middle School/High School Only):

 

  • Open Chrome and go to Schoology.com.
  • Login with Google and Click your Google Account.

 

Accessing Apps not Present on Taskbar:

 

  • Click the Circle Icon on the Lower Left.
  • Select All Apps in the Lower Right of the Popup Screen.
  • Multiple Pages of Apps Can Be Selected through the Menu Page Selector at the Bottom of the Screen.

 

Adding Wireless Profile:

 

  • Click the System Tray on the Lower Right of the Screen.
  • Click the Wireless Icon Bar.
  • Select Join Other at the Top of the Screen.
  • Enter Credentials for the Wireless Network.

 

Enable Offline use of Google Docs:

 

  • Open Google Docs.
  • Click Options->Settings.
  • In the Section Marked Offline, Move the Slider to the Right to Enable.
  • Confirm Selection.
  • Click OK.

 

How to Lock the Chromebook:

 

  • Click the System Tray in the Lower Right.
  • Click the Lock icon in the Popup Menu.

 

How to Power Off the Chromebook:

 

  • Click the System Tray in the Lower Right.
  • Click the Power Button in the Popup Menu.

 

How to Get Further Assistance with Chromebook Issues:

 

  • Several Help Topics are Available from the Built-in Help System.
  • Click the Circle in the Lower Left.
  • Click the Get Help Icon.
  • Select the Issue you Need Assistance With.
