2027 Consolidated Election - Board of Education Vacancies

Notice is hereby given that the Board of Education of West Carroll Community Unit School District 314, Carroll County, Illinois, will have three (3) seats, District 2, District 4, and District 5 respectively, open for election at the Consolidated Election to be held on Tuesday, April 6, 2027. Each seat carries a full four-year term. Board of Education positions are nonpartisan and elected at-large by the voters of the district.

How to Become a Candidate

Prospective candidates do not file with the school district. Nomination papers are filed directly with the Carroll County Clerk's Office in accordance with the Illinois Election Code (10 ILCS 5/1-1 et seq.). Candidates should independently confirm all requirements, forms, and deadlines with the County Clerk, as this notice is provided for general informational purposes only.

A complete candidate filing packet includes:

• Statement of Candidacy

• Nominating Petition signed by at least 50 qualified voters of the district (or 10% of the votes cast for that office at the last election, whichever is less) (105 ILCS 5/9-10; 10 ILCS 5/10-3)

• Receipt for a Statement of Economic Interests filed with the Carroll County Clerk, as required by the Illinois Governmental Ethics Act (5 ILCS 420/4A-101 et seq.)

• Statement of Economic Interests Filing Receipt attached to the nomination papers at filing

Filing dates and hours are set by the Carroll County Clerk and are confirmed at the time of publication; candidates should verify hours directly with the County Clerk's Office before filing.

Forms may be picked up at the Carroll County Clerk’s office at 301 N. Main St., Mt. Carroll, IL on any business day between 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (excluding holidays) or on the County website at carrollcountyil.gov
