Hello West Carroll Staff, Students, Parents, and Community!
My name is Tracy Kostallari, and I am the 6th -8th Grade Special Education Teacher. I attended Mt. Carroll High School where I played volleyball, basketball, softball, and participated in various other school activities. I was even fortunate enough to be Elmo the Hawk for a football season. Elmo was the mascot for Mt. Carroll High School in the late eighties and early nineties! I graduated in 1992 and went on to further my education at Western Illinois University. Go Leathernecks and Westerwinds! After graduation, I was hired at Hall High School in Spring Valley, Illinois. It was a very exciting time for me as a young teacher because the Red Devils went to state in volleyball, football, and basketball! The summer I left, we took a group of students abroad to explore France and England for ten days. We were able to visit Notre Dame, the Mona Lisa, and the Eiffel Tower. St. Paul’s Cathedral where Princess Diana was married was the most breathtaking site I have ever experienced due to the intricate carvings in the marble pillars and the many cherubs floating above on the painted ceilings. Next, I spent fifteen years at Pearl City Schools where I taught junior high and high school special education classes. I team taught English, history, and math within the general education setting. Jones Farrar School in Freeport, Illinois was home to me for two summers at the preschool level as well. I earned my master’s degree From Rockford University in 2010.
I am married (23 years) and have two beautiful teenagers, two dogs, and a cat. Some of my hobbies include: reading, gardening, cooking, and watching my children play baseball and softball. I also enjoy watching my daughter show and ride competitively in the equestrian world! I like nature and am fond of being outside. I love flowers and coffee!
I am super excited to be at West Carroll Middle School and look forward to meeting and working with all of you! Thunder Pride!
