A Little Bit About 8th Grade
8th Grade Late Work Policy: First Semester
Each student will receive two homework passes per class. Students will have 24 hours to complete the homework and get it turned in. After homework passes are used or if work is turned in after the 24 hour homework pass grace period, the grade for the work will be reduced 50%.
8th grade students are writing their life stories! Students are creating pages to be bound and published into a story about them. If your child suddenly has a new interest in the events surrounding their birth, toddler years, or other events from their past that seem a bit hazy to them, please take the time to share the details with them. We are hoping that publishing their story will help them become better writers.
NOTE to all MATH students: Every math student needs a scientific calculator. If your child does not own one, please see that they get one and bring it to class immediately.
Plans are in the works for the two major field trips of the year. We hope to attend Circa 21 in Rock Island to see a performance and participate in great hands on workshops. We also are planning a spring trip to Springfield to see where our laws are made and to visit the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum. More details will be shared as we get closer to the trips.
